  • Pt. Cabrillo Nature Preserve - located right on the grounds of the Lighthouse Inn - Pt. Cabrillo Nature Preserve is home to over 26 species of migratory birds, along with enchanting vistas perfect for whale and seal watching.

  • Lighthouse Tours - Tour the fully restored Pt. Cabrillo Light Station or visit our sister station - the Pt. Arena Lighthouse.

  • Ford House Museum and Visitor Center
    The Ford House was built in 1854, and is an interpretative center for the unique and many natural environments of the California Coast. Information about the early days of the village and other interesting facets of the coast are also featured in numerous displays and exhibits.

  • Kelly House Museum
    Kelly House Museum is a local history museum with property that features gardens and a natural fed spring pond, overlooking Mendocino Bay. A small display of Frolic shipwreck artifacts are also on display. The Museum is dedicated to the preservation of the ethnic, economic, and history of the city and coast.

  • Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens
    Over 47-acres of gardens, plants, trees, and specialty areas that will delight the eye, soul, and mind of all visitors. A half-mile walk from highway 1 frontage to the coast bluffs, you will experience well-tended gardens, fern covered canyons, birding areas, and more. A wonderful way to spend a day, or just a few hours. Plants for your home gardens are also available.

  • Historic Skunk Train Rides
    Alllll Aboard! Built as a logging railroad, the Skunk Railroad was built to move massive redwood trees to the sawmills on the Mendocino Coast. Steam passenger service was added in 1904. The line now runs between Fort Bragg and Willits pulling covered and observation cars for the 40-mile leisurely trip.
