California State Parks - Enjoy biking, hiking in Mendocino, or just quietly taking in the scenic views, in one or more of the 24 State Parks that abound throughout Mendocino County. There are opportunities to hike among the giant Redwoods, stroll along deserted beaches, discover isolated fern grottos fed by cascading water falls, or meander though a unusual pygmy forest. Each park has its distinctive and unique adventures.

 

Birding - Coastal Mendocino offers birders a unique opportunity to see many species of birds, and often rare birds that make short, unexpected visits our shore and Nature Preserve. The Point Cabrillo Light Station and Nature Preserve has over 50 species of birds (season dependent), and the local chapter of the Audubon Society is available for advice and information about coastal and inland birding opportunities.
