Ocean Activities near Mendocino, California

Whale Watching, Fishing, Diving, Beach Access

Year-round fishing is available just minutes from the Inn . Feel the thrilling tug of a 30-pound salmon, or the sharp snap of the rod as a Ling Cod takes your bait on a party boat out of Fort Bragg's Noyo harbor. Day fishing licenses are available locally for last minute fishing excursion.

Although Mendocino is a cold-water coastal town, it is a Mecca for diving enthusiasts and shipwreck fans. There are many public dive parks and the local shops can help you determine the best times and areas for your dive. Please remember never dive alone and preserve the environment for future generations.

Whale Watching is a popular and spectacular pastime. The grey whale migration begins in the Bering Sea from March to May and ends in the Baja of California in December. Whales can be seen from the Mendocino Coast periodically throughout this time and you can catch a charter from Noyo Harbor to get up close and personal with the giants.

See our Mendocino Beaches page for more information on activities in the sand and we provide an Activities book in each room for your convenience!
